They're getting crazy about off brand toners.
A set of Brother toners costs abou tthe same as the prionter, which was £250 or so.
My Brother DCP L3510DCW - others are similar. Brother tell you:
From new, if you buy a Brother toner, put it in, it'll work.
Brother say:
If you remove the cartridge for any reason at all (like to clear paper or clean), the cartridge won't work again. Throw it away.
If you ever try to use an off-brand toner, it will stop the printer working - ever again. Throw the printer away.
While some of that may be bypassed with hints off the net, the mfrs keep re-updating software so it IS hard.
Can anyone recommend a colour laser which has reasonably priced toner, or in which 3rd party ones can be used?
HP have gone the same way, I'm told.
