Hi all, help need please

Trying to remove a bathroom door handle and just can’t get the thing off. It seems like the lock end of the handle won’t won’t detach.

I can’t see anything that would release anything like a screw, although on the lock there does seem to be a mangled/deformed bit of something which maybe used to be able to free it but seems not functional now (in first picture).

Any ideas of something I’m missing? Trying not to use too much brute force as we’re keeping the door.

Thanks!

The 'Bolt Turnbuckle' does seem to have a mangled screw in it. I guess it's also holding the other handle on as well - have you tried removing that?

Are you replacing the door furniture or is the removal for decorating purposes?

If removal then careful drilling out may succeed otherwise it's cut it off.

Thanks @Diver Fred I’m replacing the handle with a new one so it doesn’t matter what state I leave the handle. I’ve tried to get that mangled screw out but it’s too firmly in and I cant grab it.

When you say drilling out do you mean drilling through that mangled screw? And cutting through the whole bar if that doesn’t work?
