I've recently installed a door lining kit from b&q. I'll be honest, getting it plumb perfect took me near enough 5 hours.
Having never installed one I didn't wonder why there was a groove on the entire length, both sides and across the top. Included in the kit are 3 thin strips of wood that fit in the groove.
I wondered if it could be a intumescent housing. I didn't order a fire door lining, so bit surprised... and I guess if it was an intumescent housing it wouldn't come with inserts.
Can anyone advise, as I'm worried that I can't quite understand how this groove will be concealed
