Doorbell Chime Casing - The immovable object

Hi All!

This may seem like an extremely stupid question but I wondered if you have any advice on how to get a doorbell chime/transformer casing cover off (picture attached). It looks like it should just pop off but it feels like I'm going to pull the entire unit off the wall before the casing budges.

Sadly not, seems to be smooth all the way around sadly

Thanks for the advice! Unfortunately, those 2 clips don't seem to be doing anything, it appears to be directly in the corners where it's locked in place - the plastic flexes freely around those those 2 catches in the photo

They need releasing on both sides.

Looking at the unit I'm not sure it's possible to get a screwdriver in there (see pics below) as it's right in the corner of the room I can get it in one side but it didnt seem to release anything

Before you reach for the hammer Alex, the casing must have clips at the bottom and top.....you cant reach the top so the levering has to be at the bottom.
Here’s me thinking there’s a screwdriver slot at the top which you can’t see....maybe the thing is mounted upside down

Thanks John! Gave it a good go trying to lever with the screwdriver but I think it may have to just be a (carefully positioned) hammer to get in there (could only lever from that far down as the base is so tight you cant fit a screwdriver in there to lever it)

Has it been painted at some time? If so can you run a knife blade down the right hand side to break the paint?
I would be tempted to use a broader screwdriver of chisel for leverage. If you can get 2 broad levers in at the bottom and twist both at the same time it may pop the bottom edge off.
Is there a particular reason for getting the front off? i.e. battery change? If you are replacing the whole unit I wouldn't be worried about damaging the front to get it off.
