Hi all,
I am 8 months into what I was told was a 2 month bungalow attic conversion. To cut a long story short (cause is builder half arsing before walking off) I'm in a situation with my dormers whereby the roof tiles and dry verge went on prior to fascias and cladding. So my new builder has come along this week, stuck the cladding on (without battening on top of the membrane) and is now telling me the verges (at least in places) is not attached to anything behind it.
I had a look yesterday and can see the the battens under the tiles in parts are cut between 1 and 3 inches before the end of the tile so the verges are either not attached or wonky. The builder is coming today to have a look as he said he didn't quote for fixing the verges so it will be more.
I suspect that he will say there wasn't enough room to batten before cladding as the tiles stop too short. So if/when that happens, is that ok, or am I just letting a bad job lead to bigger problems with moisture getting trapped on the dormer ply later on?
Sorry if this is a bit rambling and thanks for your any advice
