Dripping shower head, but why 'renew the thermostatic cartridge'..?

Just looked in the manual, it doesn’t mention the thermostatic cartridge nor the flow valve. Firstly try removing the flow valve and check the seating and rubber washer if one is fitted.
 
Page 9 - Cause / Rectification bullet 4 in the user guide I have states 'Renew the thermostatic cartridge', so I was wondering what fault mechanism that might be about.

But yep - I was going to take the route you suggest.
 
Normally the flow valves are a standard 1/2" 1/4 turn ceramic flow valves, cheap as chips. Pull the flow valve out of the bar and check the sizes then just get a generic one and try it

Or even new ceramic discs.
