Just bought one just to see what the hype is all about really, watched all the YouTube videos and thought it was worth a go, I might like it and really get into it or after a few flights I could get bored, don't know yet.

Any other droners on here?

What did you go for?

I was thinking about getting one last year, but the restrictions on flying them stopped me.

A guy at work has one and the pictures he gets are pretty amazing!
He's going to bring it in for a play.

Dji phantom 3 advanced.

Regs are pretty much straight forward and common sense. If it weighs less than 20kg then no licence or permit is required, don't fly within 5 miles of an airport, mine has this built into the firmware, don't fly above 400ft although mine will go way past that, at 200ft though its just a spec, keep within line of sight although mine has 2 mile range and has FPV, don't fly above crowded areas i.e more than 50 people, keep 50m from houses, its all just common sense

I quite like the idea of replica 1:whatever scale replicas of stuff like surface-to-air missiles - with a little dab of explosive in them, of course!
The drones could then have flares, chaff, etc, to evade them......mini arms race

I would break all the regs ...Reason number one why these will be banned soon

Well they'll also need to ban all model flying then too won't they nd somehow i can't see them doing that

If you use the images commercially you have to have a licence, I quite fancy getting one because I'm keen on photography, and climbing, a mate uses one to film in the mountains, prices seem to be coming down and spec's going up
