Hi, our house built 8 years ago has dry ridge roof system and the metal foil tape/aluminium flashing has lifted up. The tiles are still in place. Asked the builder and they said it’s out of warranty, asked NhBc and they said if it’s not leaking they don’t want to know. Not sure if it is a problem or not - it’s not leaking. Asked a couple of roofers and they said we need scaffolding to get up and sort it! Worried it’s going to cost a fortune for a minor problem? Any advice welcome.

Not saying I'm best placed to give advice, however if possible a couple of pics showing the affected area might help others to advise you.

Sounds like a minor problem to me. As if some of the tacky adhesive strip has failed. Unlikely to be an issue as the ridge will still be doing its job.

There shouldn't be anything to blow up. Gut tells me it's bandage fitted incorrectly pic will tell

Thank you, here is a photo

Depending on how deep the balcony is, I can't see why the ridge and affected area can't be reached by a ladder on the balcony transitioning to a roof ladder to carry out the repair. However I say that not knowing exactly what needs to be done and aware of the fact H&S guidelines maybe preclude that approach re access.

It's difficult to tell from the pics, however I wonder if the backing on the adhesive wasn't taken off on those sections of the membrane? If all that needs done is those sections stuck down, I'd have thought that repair could be completed via roof ladder, however happy to stand corrected by those in the know :)
