Ok,so I have dryer and washing machine on the one radial along with a twin socket on 20A mcb.The socket very rarely has anything plugged into it,so I'm led to believe and if it is being used its only a portable stereo thats pulling any load!Anyway I checked the connections and all where good and tight. Also the dryer and washing machine are relatively new(3 months)I unplugged everything off the circuit and tried them seperately and everything seemed fine, but when the both where put on the mcb trips.Sometimes it would take at least 20mins for it to trip after being reset and I'm told sometimes it would go the full cycle and be fine. This has me a bit baffled?Never had a problem like this before. It would have made more sense to me if there was another load on the socket causing it!I'm leaning towards it being a faulty mcb,but I'd like to be certain that whatever the solution it be a permanent one.Should point out that the person who done the orignal wiring put two doubles directly beneath the sink  I'd much appreciate it if anyone could shed some light on this?

Thanks...

20A is pushing it a little for a washer and a drier at the same time. Whether or not it blows probablly depends mainly on how much of the time both appliaces are heating at the same time.

what you really need to do is put in another circuit for one of the big appliances or upgrade the existing circuit to be suitable for a 32A breaker.
