easy transfer files xp to win 7 help!

I intend to transfer (copy) files from xp to windows 7. I understand the best way is to use ms easy transfer software! my question is if i do this then will the original files on xp will vanish or will the easy transfer just copy and the original files will be on xp. (ideally i would NOT want them to vanish. thanks in advance.

The easy transfer requires a cable between the two computers. It only copies your documents (Images, videos and other documents). You can take it down to your local computer store and they should only charge about £25 which is about the cost of the easy transfer cable. If you do buy one yourself, be careful and check reviews first as some of them are pretty useless.
