Easy treatment of stained outside table

Hi all
I have an outside wood table that has been treated with a water based stain. I was wondering if there is a simple easy means of annually ensuring protection (not having to sand down but just applying another coat of something clear). Is it possible to treat stained wood? And if so, with what?

Use high quality solvent based paint and you might find every 3+ years or so is enough to keep in top of it. Don’t waste your money on cheap housewives stain from b and q - something with osmo or jotun on the side is what is needed.
