The meter is moving from a car port to the front of the house.

The gas people want a 38mm hole & duct thru the wall (the standard off-the-shelf plastic waste water pipe).

WPD (electricity infrastructure) say that it's for my supplier to stipulate what size hole is required for the meter tails (as their involvement terminates at the back of the surface mounted box) but Greenstar (electricity supplier) say it's not their department either. I suppose it's just the lawyers keeping the liability with the homeowner.

So, what size hole will be required to run the tails from the surface mounted electricity meter thru the wall into the house?

Probably the same.

hockey sticks for the incoming mains are 38mm diameter. And the location of the holes for supply in and tails out will be marked on the back of the box.

That will be for your electrician to deicide. He/she will need to have these in place, along with the relevant paperwork for when the electricity supplier move/install your meter. Unless the dno is moving the meter at the same time as doing the service alteration?
