Hi,

We have a single loop wet electric central heating system. We recently had the floors up and have noticed the feed goes in one side (at the bottom of the radiator) and comes out of the bottom at the other side but there is no pipe connecting the two pipes together (Just through the radiator) so must have all the radiators on for the system to work. Is this a problem? It is just a one bedroom flat so only five radiators and need all of them on to get any heat. The flat has been cold and I want to upgrade to bigger radiators so wondered if I should be looking at upgrading the pipe work?

Thanks for your help in advance.

If your current radiators get piping hot then yes. If not then No. Each larger radiator you add will decrease the temperature of the next one by a couple of degrees at least due to extra heat loss from the new radiator.
You have a poor system configuration.
