Can anyone tell me (in very simple terms please) how to remove the page numbers which appear all the time when I go on to Excel.

It doesn't print out "Page 1" etc when I print the actual page but it is annoying when I am trying to post information.

Or is this something inherent in the programme?

In your spreadsheet go to menubar 'view'
Select 'normal'

That will get rid of it

May depend on the version of Excel, but try under the menu option view, then select headers and footers. On the drop down list called footers, select (none)

Hope that helps.

Hi Eddie

His problem has nothing to do with footers, it's the view on the screen that's bothering him.
Look at menubar 'View'. The two first selections are:
Normal and Pagebreak Preview.

His screen is on the second one, showing a big PAGE 1 on the screen. Change this setting to Normal and it will disappear.

Sorry, your right I misread the post, I thought it was printing out page numbers on the bottom of the page

Marvellous, Woodyoulike, marvellous - thank you.
