I need to replace three 100 X 100 fence posts that are set into concrete in very clay soil. The fence was built professionally using a nail gun so would be very difficult to dismantle.

My intended repair is to put the new posts into meta posts, set in concrete just a foot or so away from the originals, leaving those in place, with the new posts protruding an inch or two above the soil - bolted to the cross posts with Coachscrews

My thinking is that this will stop the new post rotting again so quickly due to the clay issue.

Is that feasible?

Thanks
