I am seriously considering covering the brick walls of my chalet bungalow because it will look better but more importantly stop driving rain from attacking one of the walls which unfortunately have been painted over with plastic paint ( should be made a criminal offence) meaning the bricks can breathe, water gets trapped behind the paint which inevitably peels off. I have been trying to strip the paint off using a chemical and a stripping device with a view to repainting with a breathable paint but have only been moderately successful up so i have decided to clad the whole house with one of the above depending on cost and suitability . Instinctively I am drawn to fibre cement as it seems to present the best value and there are three brands i am considering - James Hardie, Cladco, and Cedral overlap boards. Cedral would appear to be the more expensive of the three but i wondered if anyone here had experiences using these products and which they would recommend? Thanks

I've used what used to be cembrit fibre cement plank on a couple of jobs (now swisspearl) https://www.swisspearl.com/en-uk/products/facade/swisspearl-plank-original#colours and it's been great - 5 years now since the first install and still looks perfect. Does what it says on the tin. I chose cembrit solely because it was the brand my local merchant stocked.
Nice looking product but if the price is correct at over £80 a sq mtr , then its a put off besides it doesn't appear to be widely available

Weather plank is 12' as apposed to Cembrit which is 10' that will be part of the price difference.
