Hi we've just bought and are doing up a 1930s house that has cast concrete faux stone blocks on the front. These have been painted quite thickly with masonry paint and there are lots of large air bubbles and the concrete blocks are quite crumbly below. We are trying to remove the paint as it has deteriorated quite a bit (may paint again in the future or leave as concrete). The paint peels and chips off pretty easily as not really stuck to the the concrete. I'm a bit worried as I noticed the paint has little fibres running through it. Not sure if these could be asbestos?? They are very thin, small and even. From a basic search it looks like asbestos wasn't used in external paint (it is not in the concrete btw) but I can't find any sort of fibre reinforced masonry paint example to put mind at rest. Does anyone know what the little fibres are? Photos attached... Thank you so much

Just to add, the paint looks so thick as the underside has picked up some of the concrete... I now think the fibres are in the primer as they are in in the first layer of paint. Does anyone know what this could be? Is there some sort of primer/sealer that has been used that has small fibres in it? Many thanks again!!
