Filling a hole around kitchen extractor fan

Hi all,

I've recently had a new kitchen extractor fan fitted as the last one was ancient.

However the fan was too small for the hole and had to be fitted to one side, leaving a large gap on the other.

What would be the best way to fill this gap? The person who fitted recommended filling with CT1 but I'm not sure if that's correct.

Any recommendations ideas are welcome!

Toupret masonry filler will work. Box of power and add water.
CT1 will also work but will make it difficult to remove in the future.

Person fitting should have made good, sloppy job. If they had fitted a plate right across with correct size hole there would be nothing to make good.

1) is the hole in the wall lined with a plastic duct? If not, is it a cavity wall?

2) what size is the hole? Bathroom fans are usually 100mm (4 inch) but kitchen fans usually 125 or 150

3) is there a plastic vent or grille on the outside, and does it fit?
