I moved into my current house just before Christmas, and now I'm thinking about what I'm going to do with the garden (fed up of painting indoors!)
It's a fairly level plot, mainly lawn - garden is about 33ft x 50ft, but towards the end of the garden it falls away slightly - just by a few inches over the last 20ft or so. I'd like to level this up properly before I start laying a new path etc - any advice on the easiest way to find the level? Is it just a case of putting a long piece of timber across two pegs in the ground, or are there any other (more reliable) ways?
Also, one final (stupid) question - I've never hired a skip before ... how does the pricing work? Do you pay a fixed price and then have it for as long as you need, or do you hire it by the day?
Cheers
Ian
