I have removed some seriously ugly and thick floor tiles for my kitchen - area 4metres by 9 metres. This has left the adhesive behind in 'blobs' with multiple holes etc.

I want to put down vinyl and need to level the floor, the current situation leaves me with level changes of 5mm plus and the vinyl fitter have said their standard screed can only deal with about 3mm.

What should I use to get a reasonable level floor for the standard screed to go on top of?

Digging the adhesive of using an SDS chisel is very time comsuming and is damaging the concrete floor underneath

Ideas please!

I'd sack your vinyl fitter for starters.
Most screeding compounds go from 3mm -6mm. Some go up to 50mm unfilled ?

If it was me I'd do a patch screed 1st filling any low spots and holes.
Then a full coat at 4-5mm.
