I am getting a new kitchen. Floor is completely dug they will put underfloor heating on. What are the suggestions for durable water proof material on kitchen floor. I am looking LVTs, is that a good idea? Also should the floor be put on before or after kitchen cabinets.

Glue down LVT is your best option but the subfloor needs to be tested for moisture and properly prepared before fitting. We would always recommend fitting after the Kitchen is installed then trim the end boards and kick boards of the units to fit.

Why glue is better than click? Can click also be glued? What about for repairs

Click cannot be glued, it needs the same subfloor preparation as glue down to have a chance of being effective, you will need a expansion gap around the edge of all rooms covered by scotia or new skirting and doorways should have door bars. You can't pin the floor down with too much weight that may restrict movement and anywhere that see's direct sunlight will likely have joint issues. You cannot install a Kitchen over a Click LVT floor or a Laminate or Engineered wood Floor.

Glue down is more stable, can be fitted against skirtings and run through other areas with no door bars or expansion gaps. You can put weight on it without restricting movement and fitted on a High Temperature adhesives it will stay stable in areas of direct sunlight.

If you must have a 'floating' floor, go with Laminate, it's far more stable than click LVT and more forgiving of subfloor prep (or lack there of).

Glue down LVT is far easier to repair/replace planks than any floating floor system.
