I'm tiling the flor of my ensuite, but haven't got a clue how to finish it off in the door way leading to the carpeted bedroom - there is a slight hight difference.. Is it acceptable to use a modified carpeting door bar, or is there a specific device made for this task!!?

You can get carpet to tile trim from B&Q in either chrome or gold finish. You screw it down then squash the trim onto the tile and carpet by beating it with a bit of wood and a hammer. The piece of wood is very important, do not try and beat it down without or you risk cracking the tiles.

Whilst you're at B&Q there is another type of trim designed for joining different level floors. You don't screw it down so no nasty little screws to snag your bare feet on! There's basically a base plate that you srew to the floor and a solid trim that snaps into the plate. Good luck! :)
