i have to be honest here

years ago when laminate was in it infancy
i went to b + q i asked the chap there about gluing the the laminate
he said he had just laid his own floor he had glue along the edges
also generous amount of glue on the base of each board
so i though if you glue it to the floor you dont need expansion gaps
so it must be stable so i just cut it neatly to the skirting
looked wonderfull no quadrant winter time oooo feeerrrr
fffeeerrrkkk sake the floor lifts in one spot
oooo sssssshhh****tttt the only way round the problem was to
take a 2m rule force it under the floor to release it from the lamin
so the expansion now moves to the edge and lifts up
thankfully i just removed the skirting from the edge
replaced with new skirting with the bottom 8mm removed
to sit on top 40 od floors later i think im getting the hang of it
