I have to convert my roof from hip to gable and builder advise to make the wall in timber instead of block work as this would be lighter and avoid issue of sticking the insulated plasterboard on the internal side which is very expensive.
I came across this detail which was discussed many years ago on this forum and was wondering if still works or is now out of date.
I`m fine in terms of structure as I can double check it with structure engineers. Only doubt is from the frame to the external side what would be the best material to use as this need to host pebble dash render to match level below.
