Galaxy Flex fault when setting alarm

Hi, i Installed a new Galaxy Flex 20 with mk8 keypad and a couple of RF zones. Had some previous issue with the tampers and low battery in a few PIRs but that has been sorted now. I have a new 7.2Ah battery fully charged.
Problem is when I set the alarm I get this "ALERT-BATT LOW", ent=CONTINUE SET on the panel, and then after pressing enter "ALERT-FAULT RST" ent=CONTINUE SET. So I can set the system by ignoring these error, but what are these errors coming from and how to get rid of them?

Hi, where did you buy the panel? Was this one of the eBay 'new' panels that are actually customer returns?

This sounds like a faulty unit, so will need replaced.
 
Hi, thanks for the info but the panel is from SecurityWarehouse. Do you have any reference on this issue?
 
This can also happen if you've connected the battery terminals the wrong way. This can damage multiple components. If from SW, just process through returns.
 
Just another thought on this. Is the led on the keypad flashing? If not, perform a 51.17 restart in engineering mode.
 
Sorry for late reply, but now after being away on vacation for a few weeks after starting up the panel again it seems to work fine! Very strange, because i did shut it down and restart it several time before, but now I don't get the errors any more... so it seems fine for now. :/

I have this same issue on my alarm however my lights do flash..

Can't seem to get it to clear at all - I have a flex 50 panel. as above - can also override and set but using the keyprox fobs it doesnt allow me to set and using an RF fob i have to press twice to effectively override the faults displayed.

Any ideas?
 
The flashing keypad led is for system backup battery fault. This can be either the battery itself or the charging/monitoring circuit.
 
Hmmm.
Thought the same and just changed the battery. Any way I can test the charging circuit?

I've acquired this alarm with this fault. Would save me replacing the whole panel.
