Galaxy tablet A7. Cannot switch data on

Hello. You tubers tell say, go to settings/connections/data usage, ten turn on, but there is nothing more after "Wi fi data usage" on my Tablet. I've tried "More connection settings"
but there's nothng there.

I know I'm supposed to put one item at a time, but canyou tell me if I have to sign in on this tablet before getting into you tube? It seems to want me to.

Is the A7 a 4G device? Thought it was only WiFi? need a SIM for standard data functionality
 
I think that the Galaxy a7 tablet is 4G.Not sure but as I said above, it is suppose to have a "turn data on " facility
but mine doesn't seem to have. Regards

Perhaps because it knows the sim card is missing.
 
Hello, I've checked and it seems that this tablet does not have a facility for a sim card. Any hope here?

I don't understand what you're saying.

Do you mean it won't connect to wifi?

Or do you mean you're online but you can't watch YouTube?

Or do you mean you can watch YouTube but are not signed in by username?
 
I assumed he wanted to turn mobile data on, which requires a paid up SIM card, at least that's what the thread title seems to ask. But then it goes on about alsorts of other stuff as you mention.
 
I have a Galaxy Tablet A here but not sure of its number.

I'm so sorry not to have made myself clear, I'm old now and not very computer literate. I want to get online while I'm out and I hope I'm right when I think that I have to have "mobile data " on. I found this on you tube and went through the
procedure till I got to "3" I can see no "Mobile Data" thing to tap on or off. That's my problem. Thanks so much for your patience. Alan

Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite - Turn Data On / Off
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
  2. Navigate: Settings. > Connections > Data usage.
  3. Tap Mobile data to turn on or off . If prompted, tap Turn off to confirm
 
I can use my Samsung tablet when out, by setting up a local hotspot with my mobile phone, and the tablet attaches to its wifi.

The phone contract has ample data allowance so this is cost free.

So e.g. I can use it for satnav in the car (though it is quicker to begin route planning on the home wifi which is faster when it downloads the map).

Also for email.

You can attach (at least) two wifi tablets or laptops to the phone.
 
On my tablet you do it with

Settings
Connections
Wifi

But you set up the phone hotspot first. The phone has to be set to "mobile data" because it not receive wifi, and create a source, at the same time.

My "data usage" is also blank, presumably because the tablet does not have a sim.
