Garden Drain

I was wondering if it would be possible to dig this area up and add pea gravel underneath and top it with a black channel drain? It won’t be connected to any pipes so was wondering if it was possible?

Anything is possible with a spade
Are you trying to make a sump or a drain?
If the area is subject to excess rainwater perhaps a small pond can help...
