Hi all,

I'm currently in the process of building a sleeper wall to try and flatten out my lawn. There is already a retaining wall for a sunken patio which is due to the house being on the side of a hill and theres not much i can do with that.

I'm in a bit of a dilemma on what do to with the sleeper wall. Should i lay the wall right across the grass line and against the back of the brick retaining wall, then just add some coping on the top of the wall (to make it look a bit nicer and use it as a workspace for the bbq). Or do i lay the sleepers across the top of the brick retaining wall?

Any opinions on this would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Chris

Call that a hill? Pah that's a gentle slope :)

As you first suggested/option 1.
Also when your digging the slope out your likely to be exposing the concrete used to secure the fence so leaving a grass gap around the edges (for flowers etc) might be a suggestion.

Yea my plan was to make a planet bed between the sleepers and the grass. I just wasn't sure if the sleepers lining the back of the retaining wall would look weird or not
