Geberit frame bend angle

Hi,

I have installed the waste pipe as seen in the attached photo, making sure I have a fall of 1:4 to 1:3 from invert of the bend at the frame to the invert of the 4” pipe at the face of the bend ( the distance is 1400mm) that goes into the outside soil pipe. However, I’ve just seen few geberit instructions (it isn’t in the instruction came with my frame) and it seems like they advise the bend to be installed to 0 deg to 45 deg max as seen in attached. What’s your thoughts? Is my installation incorrect? What worried me is after water testing the installation, I noted that the return of the bend at the frame that the pan connects to, has an upward contour and encourages water towards the pan rather than the soil pipe, but flushing force should push waste otherwise. Also the pan connecter inside will sit flush with the rest of the frame bend inside. Nevertheless I want to make sure what I have done is correct before concealing this frame ... Thanks

Bit of both. Their instructions pertain to installation on 3" pipe, whereas yours is 4". They may also be based on building regulations from another country, as Geberit aren't British. Having said that, the initial connection is 3" so giving it a decent gradient wouldn't be a bad idea.

Have to say as well, your installation doesn't look to have enough fall on it. The soil pipe should ideally fall 44mm over every metre of horizontal run (a 2.5° slope).

Pipe is sloping the wrong way, waste matter will not flush away- change it.

The initial connection is 90mm I believe. I have a fall of 35mm on pipe which is about 1:40 (what regs state) and I can drop it easily to 45mm. I inserted the pan connector and it’s inside was sitting flush with the inside of the initial bend’s return connected to the 4” pipe. Hence I guess I should be okay

I agree! hence I used a proper Stanley 1200 for this installation.

Installed them like that before with no issues. Never seen those other instructions before. Minimum fall would be 18mm per m anyhows
