You can guarantee their guns will work, the vehicles will be reliable and the troops well trained. I'd rather have them on board than be against them especially with their massive industrial backing.

Obviously depends whos figures you use, and of what date.
But consider Turkey, Ukraine, France, Germany ? Some sites say they are all bigger.

regardless it is still one of europes biggest armies bigger than the UK`s and some in here still think they are not allowed to have an army perhaps they last used google in the mid 1950`s
It's complicated. The NYT article I linked to above covers it but it's a bit hard going.
The simple fact is that the German people are still extremely reluctant to militarise again.

Yes.
And then you have to include Italy, before you get to UK. Some still regard us a major force.
That's a large part of it. But the reasons for that are complicated.

You are being very literal. There is no legal restriction stopping them. But many people in Europe still have worries about Germany militarising too much. The reasons are complex, but you should be able to take a guess at some of them.
The german people being chief among them, although "worries" is a poor choice of word, in my honest opinion.
"Unenthusiastic" might be more appropriate.
