GOEC62~1.DLL error

Everytime I now boot up the PC stops before launching into Windows XP this message

C:\PROGRA~1\Google\GOOGLE~1\GOEC62~1.DLL is not a valid windows image.

When I look for this in the C path it doesn't show. Can anyone throw some light on how to get rid of this annoying blip ?

Uninstall the Google toolbar and make sure all traces of it are deleted in the Program Files folder.

It isn't in the Google folder.

Start - Run - type "MSCONFIG"

When the box opens click on the "START UP" tab and anything to do with Google remove the tick you dont need it

That should work

I can see a few items ticked and some google items un-ticked. What would be the next step please ?

If everything to do with Google has already had the tick removed does your problem persist

Can you go to add/remove and un-install Google toolbar or Google Chrome

What is the full error message, event viewer will give you it

When I go into event viewer I have no idea what I am looking for. What I don't want to happen if I get rid of the Google toolbar is all my passwords and settings lost for various sites.
