google search engine

For some reason, everytime I look for a particular subject on google, instead of getting the website I'm looking for I get "gimmeanswers".
Its most annoying and I can't get rid of it. Its only happened in the last 10/14 days. Can anybody help please?

It does my head in too, try deleting tempory internet files and cookies.

Try downloading and running these utilities in the exact order

1- rkill.exe (kills the malware process)

2- TDSS killer (removes unwanted rootkits if found)

3- Malwarebytes Free Version run a full scan and fix all it finds, then reboot.

It sounds like you have got a rootkit type of malware, you can get rid of these by downloading the rootkit removal tool from the microsoft website.

The sooner you get rid of this the better, because the fact you have this on your computer shows that you are vunerable to more serious infections such as trojans.

can i thank wotan,dave.m and john455 for all your help and advice in helping me get rid of "gimmeanswers" whenever i was looking for something on google.
i did manage it through yourselves and a next door neighbour who knows a bit more about computers than i do, but i never got back to thank you all.
what a great forum this is and such friendly and helpful people to educate people like me

As you have removed it, now is the time to purge your system restore so that you do not accidentally do a restore to when you were infected with the blasted thing.
