I'm using Firefox browser and have really struggled since they stopped allowing the Google Toolbar to be used in conjunction with this browser.

I need a search engine on the browser as using the address bar is pants.
Any suggestions or should I dump FF and use a different browser. :(

I'm not quite sure what you mean when you say "They stopped allowing Google Toolbar to be used" as I'm running the latest release and it's included in that.

Maybe it needs to be turned on in Firefox's prefs ?

You could also set the Home page to Google so when you open a new tab - There is the search bar.

Right click a blank area on the FF upper window frame, ensure 'Menu Bar' is ticked.
The menu appears top left, choose 'Tools' then 'Options', under the General tab you should see a similar box to the one in my pix. Click on 'Restore to Default' this gets you the Google search page behind the box in my pix.

Dave54 gave good advice especially to be found at the first address in his post.
