Google Sketchup?

Anyone here use this excellent (free!) package?

I find it invaluable for all sorts of DIY projects large or small. It is very good for laying out garden or indoor projetcts ie sheds/patios or kitchens/bathrooms etc. It makes project material estimation and cutting lists etc a doddle. I have a few models in the Sketchup Warehouse I can share if anyone is interested.

I searched here for other threads on this subject but the only result was an old thread from 2007 if anyone can link me to other threads about sketchup here I would be grateful.

Learned to use it ages ago - a problem was set hereabouts concerning a cube with a hole drilled through centred on two opposite corners we needed to find the volume of material removed... Sketchup did the job well. Forgotten how to use it now.

Sort of got the gist of corner detail as below. Two pyramid one on each end of a tube, add to volume of tube, calc the volumes of the three cylindrical wedges at each end and subtract from overall figure = volume removed.
