Greenhouse roof glazing - get clips high up

Once again Google is pointless.

We have to put a last pane of glass in the sloping roof of our new greenhouse. I have successfully mounted and clipped the other panes using W clips.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to get the W clips high up the pane towards the ridge. The previous ones were doable either from an empty space at the side or through a vent.

But this last one looks like there would be a lot of leaning.

Can you take the lower pane out, use steps inside the greenhouse to clip the upper one and then, from outside, slide the lower one back into position and re-clip it?

Can you set your ladders at the end and lean across as far as safely possible to reach near the middle and then do the same from the other end?
If someone holds the steps for you then you may be able to comfortably reach about 3' or 4' across depending how tall you are. (and how confident you feel on ladders/steps).
I shouldn't think it's so critical that you have to have them in the dead centre.

We thought of that, Conny. By stretching I can reach halfway up the pane. It's the top that's a nuisance. If there was a wall nearby I could secure myself.

This is the top of the Pennines. So a bit windy.

However this cannot be a new problem. I was wondering about some sort of rod type tool.

About 2 ft wide by 4 ft high. I can reach halfway up without leaning and with some steps a bit more. The instructions, which are rubbish, suggest ending with this last pane but no guidance about getting the inaccessible clips on without a giant friend.

Usually you would work your way along and do the last one from outside.

Is the lean to in a corner or something?

Hah! If only it was the last. Hall's instructions get some real aggro online. One reviewer said it was like cake baking instructions where, just before cooking, you are told you should have added sugar earlier.

Ditto here. Thank you all for trying to help. I sort of hoped someone would pop up with a ready made solution. Perhaps a different sort of clip that could be applied with a shelf grabber. Maybe I'll build something.

Thanks. I already know how to fit the clips. My question was about reaching up high without leaning on greenhouse. Gosh. For what I imagined would be a quick Q&A this is going on.

I think I'll put this one to bed now. If I work out a solution I'll post it.
