Grouting - what am I doing wrong?

I've just grouted a large area of tiling, and after a few minutes lots of little tiny holes have appeared in the grout lines!

I applied the grout using a grout float and then cleaned any grout of the tiles with a damp sponge. The grout looked great for a while!

Am I not forcing enough grout into the gaps, or is my sponge too wet?

Are you using ready mixed grout or are you mixing your own ?

A lot of people don't know this but you should the mix the "ready mixed adhesive" as well to prevent air bubbles !
