Guestimate on how long to slab

Hi all

Im considering doing my garden patio instone paving, something like either the mismatched tumbled slabs or 600x300 slabs and a rough idea how many sand/cement id use. Id really like to take it on but want to see what im getting myself into!

Iv not done wetmix slabbing before, i just wanted to ask if someone would maybe have an idea now long i should expect for me to slab it being a somewhat novice? Iv bricked my own extension and done lots of other projects similar but not slabbing with wetmix method. Like how many slabs i can expect to lay per mix @ 50mm bed.


Area is quite big, 4x11m. I will be laying 75mm of mot1 crush prior.


I already own a cement mixer, stihl saw and compactor, this is why i am considering doing it myself but i have a habbit of being unrealistic in how long it will take! Theres no real awkward bits, ust a few slabs to cut to size.

So far using calculators

Mot1 8 x 850kg bags
Sharp sand 5 x 850kg
Cement 30 x 25kg @ 50mm depth
Beer - how ever many it takes!
