Hanging Blind - Bathroom Window - Hitting metal? How high should the bracket be?

I'm hanging a new blind in the bathroom on the wall above the window. I've tried drilling holes for the brackets, but I'm hitting metal. Here I'm already 3 ½ cm up. How much higher should I go?

There is most likely a Catnic lintel over the window which could be anywhere between 4" to 12" dependant on the span. Start new holes if you can and use a small diameter metal cutting drill bit and a gauge of screw a little larger than the drill bit and it should get a good bite but don't overtighten.
