Hi

Our master BT socket is located in the Study. There is BT face plate in the living room, which I presume is hard wired from the master socket in the study. I want to add another socket in the opposite corner of the study but do not want it fed from a plug in extension, would prefer a hard wired one (it's for Broadband and only want to connect wires 2 and 5 to help with the SNR). If the faceplate in the living IS hardwired from the master socket in the study, is it ok to add another hard wired extension from the master socket...i.e. have two extensions hard wired from the one master socket?

Thanks

The IDC connectors on the customer side of an NTE5 are designed to take up to two cables, so that should be OK. (the BT side of the NTE5 has it's own terminals for BT use only)

But

Multiple cable ends may have unpredictable effects on ADSL (signal reflections within the cable)

So it's a case of suck it and see.
