Harder to own your first home under the Tories

Did I hear correctly - What I thought I heard were, a couple in their 40's, recently married, each earning £30K per year, paying £1k in monthly rent - yet they were unable to save enough, for a deposit. They claimed to need to save £12k for a deposit.
 
The note that the incoming Tory minister apologised to Laws about?

I wonder why he did that?

When labour left office in 2010 the public debt was under £1 trillion...

If Labour get back in office in 2024 the public debt will be over £2 trillion...

Immigration at record highs (yes, that old chestnut again), and house building below the unrealistically low government targets. Is it any wonder housing is unobtainable for ordinary, working Brits?

For eg. it was all native Brits living around me, now it's like the UN around here - and this is by no means a multicultural area. Have Spanish one side (very good neighbours) and Russians the other. Chinese two doors down. Brother has Koreans one side and Irish the other. He worries for his cat. Local chippy is run by Poles and another is Russian. Turk mafia is moving into shopping areas with bogus mezze restaurant with zero customers and barbers - same customer levels. It appears the whole world is now arriving.

Remember - Labour started all of this, and Tories carry it on. Whoever you vote for will change nothing.

Na all these barber shops take aways etc are all highly profitable businesses no way are they laundering and cleaning up dirty money lol

I forgot an Indian/stani recently spent a fortune fitting out an open all hours convenience store, marble floor tiles, etc. Very nice job. However, there are never any customers in there, day or night. Occasionally see slightly dubious foreigners going in late at night when passing on way to pub, but that's it. Yet it's fully stocked, lights blazing, but does no legitimate business.

Welcome to soft touch, wild west UK, where anyone can come from wherever and take what they want. Lefties must be so proud.

All we have, is an elderly, luverly, Taiwanese couple, who used to have a corner shop at the end of the street, with a flat over. They recently refurbed the place, doing away with the shop, plus a Turkish barber which recently opened in the main street. Other than that, we have the scrap collectors, living a few miles away somewhere, constantly prowling the streets for scrap, in their uninsured, untaxed trucks.
