I am tiling onto a exterior solid wall made from brick and blocks - In the past I would have SBR primed the surface and then tiled but now the rage is hardie board and using flexible adhesive
I am worried that after applying hardie board and 10mm adhesive and 10mm porcelain tiles we have a 30mm space taken up by wall decoration - This is especially probleatic when you have a half tiled and half painted utility room where it sticks out quite a lot
What can forum members advise - Is tiling onto solid exterior walls which have been primed with neat SBR really a problem? Can I put a skim coat of 3mm of plaster instead?
I am not worried about cost just the finish as this is my forever house
The tiles I will use are 1200 mm by 600 porcelain tiles which I know are sensitive to movement !
