I have a Hawksmoor Mower [XSZ40B][1 year old]and it surges badly since putting it away Last winter. It ran fine before that. It stalls out when I try to cut grass most of the time now and It need lots of choke[Red button pushes] to get it started from hot.. I did not drain the fuel when I put it away. Since then I have drained and refilled the tank with fresh fuel and problem was still there. I removed the carb and main jet and ultrasonically cleaned it in thinners. Then blew out all the jets and small holes near the throttle butterfly with an airline. I did not actually remove the emulsion tube which sits behind the main jet I think but I did blow this out. Anyway after re-assembly the mower still surges as before. I will change the plug now. When I remove the drain plug fromt he floatchamber the fuel comes out free flowing so I assume that any restriction in the fuel supply is unlikely to be the cause. . Any comments??? Anything else I should try please. ???
