Hi all
I'm trying to save myself some money with a new extension I'm doing and want to lay the heat pump base and soak away myself. Never done this before but doesn't look complicated. However, just wanted to get some of your expert advise with a couple questions below:
1 - I assume the process for the base is as simple as... dig a small bit down. Flatten earth. Lay some chippings. Pour concrete base on top. Am I missing something? The builder talked at some stage to a soak away needing to be built around it but wasn't sure if he meant just the installation of the soak away or additional chippings around the base. Any advice?
2 - Regarding the soak away, was going to install the SOAK1GR as it was recommended and seems small and easy. Can that be installed completely below ground? As in, having lawn on top. Or does it need to be level with surface? I've seen conflicting pictures but most have either level to surface or with some chippings above. Ideally I would like to lay lawn over if possible as it will become a bit of an eye sore otherwise.
Thanks for any help.
Alan
p.s. listed this in 'building' as I'm talking to concrete bases and such but wasn't sure where to put it.
