Hi there

So I bought an expensive handmade table and the maker recommended oiling with Rubio Monocoat. I did this after a few weeks of ownership and it’s a mess. It’s left a really smudged sticky surface which I can’t get rid of…any ideas/experience with this I’d be very grateful (or I’m sleeping in the shed)

Failing the above, speak to the company that made it, might offer some advice,

Hope the sheds comfy...

Hi and thanks for the reply - shed wasn’t too bad!

I did see these products but it also seemed that they were for cleaning surfaces after treatment - we’ll see - I’ve ordered the soap.

Never heard of it but I have always had great success with good quality Danish oils - see my restored tea trolley in projects.

Did you mix in the hardener? before applying? Remove Excess after buffing it?

Why did you do this a few weeks after purchase?
Surely it was already treated. not requiring further treatment for a long time afterwards?
