Help on Old Honeywell system/battery replacement/errors

Hi

We have an old Honeywell system. They keypad has a sticker on it saying Grade 3 Class II. There had been some low battery errors for a while so as the walls were being painted the opportunity was taken to replace the batteries in the sensors mentioned on the keypad.

No alarm went of when taking the covers off or taking the batteries out (which I think should have happened?), the new batteries are in but now the keypad says Tamper error and also an RF error (I cant remember exactly what this one says). In the sensors with the new batteries they flash constantly and fast.

Can anyone guide me if there is a way to fix this? There is another sensor with a low battery so I will do that one as well all together once I know if there is a proper way.

You need the engineers code to reset the faults. The alarm didn't sound when you opened the sensors, as it wasn't set. It just logged the errors, so you need to reset these with the engineer code. The label you are reading is for the keypad. You will also have a large grey metal case which is the main control panel. This is normally somewhere like the utility cupboard and will have a model number label on the front. The main control panel also holds a large 12v battery which will likely need replacing too.

Thanks for this information. I don’t know the engineer code. If I do find it, should I just try to put the sensors back and try to code then hopefully will sort it, or will putting in the wrong code cause problems?
 
The system will lock out the keypad for a period of time if you repeatedly enter a wrong code. If you have a correct user or master code, entering it on every 5th attempt or so will stop the locking out. I've sent you a pm on getting back up and running.
