Hi, I seem to have 2 bathoom extractor fans, does this seem right?

I have one at the shower and an inline one further along the ducting under the floorboards.
I am wondering how I could tell if the inline one is working?
Or if stopped I assume it would block air getting through.
Thanks

How do you know it is a fan under the floor boards, that would seem like an unusual set up. If you can see it you should be able to tell if it is working or not. You would hear it if it was working. Could do with more detail really. Are you sure it is an inline fan and not a back draught shutter. If it is a fan and was not working it would reduce the flow but not stop air getting through altogether. How does a fan in the shower get ducted to floor level?

I’ve never come across such a set up like you describe but this doesn’t mean it doesn’t work like you think

Why do you think you might have 2?

Why are you looking at this? Is there an issue?

To see if the second (difficult to reach) fan is or is not working, I would switch off the power at the consumer unit (Fuse box) and temporarily remove the live connection from the accessable fan by pulling the wire out from its connection block at the fan.
Then put the power back on and listen for the other fan.

Only do this if you are competent with electrical matters.

Thanks for your answers, sorry I didn't make it clear that it's under the floorboards of the ceiling above, I'll try what SFK suggested.

Are you sure the one by the shower is actually a fan and not just the inlet for the inline fan that's above the ceiling?

Thanks, yes I am sure it's a fan,the only thing I can think is they wanted to add more power

At least I think it is, it has a cable going to it, I disconnected the other one but couldn't hear or feel another fan working

So where is the cable that you think goes to it coming from as I agree from the pic that is what it looks like, I suspect it might be confusing the issue.
