Hi,

I’m new so apologies if this has been asked/resolved before.

I had an engineer install my Hive Heating System yesterday, however, when I try to control the heating from the app or thermostat the receiver clicks on but it does not fire up the boiler. All the lights etc area solid green implying that the Hive system is fully operational and working correctly.

I’ve tried restarting and reconnecting the boiler, receiver and thermostat as well as the app but problem still persists.

I’m wondering if perhaps I need to do something with the manual settings on the boiler?

The boiler is an Ideal Logic Combi 24. It’s currently set to Winter Mode and Scheduled heating (6:30-9am). I’ve tried having the boiler turned ‘On’ but then it is just on constantly and I can’t turn it off via the app or thermostat when it reaches the target temperature. I’ve also tried have it ‘Scheduled On’ the whole time but again it’s the same problem. When I turn of ‘Off’ then the heating is off constantly and I can’t control it from the app or thermostat.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

The boiler timeswitch will need to be set to be permanently 'on' 24/7 as it will still switch the boiler off, even if the Hive says otherwise. Then you control everything from the Hive, both time and temperature.

Thanks for the reply Stem. I’ve switched it so that the time switch is permanently ‘on’ but now the boiler is just in all the time.

I left it for an hour or so to check that it was just preheating but the radiators are all just blasting out heat now.

The boiler light at the bottom right of The Hive receiver is off and I’ve tried adjusting the heating via the app but no joy.

Am I still doing something wrong?
