Hi,

Looking to install Hive - for Greenstar 24Ri condensing boiler (not Combi).

Current timer / thermostat switches 240V to the boiler, so I'm expecting Hive receiver to do the same

I'd expect 240v AC on pin 4 of the receiver when I press the heat on button on the front of it, but I get 40v AC

Is my receiver faulty? is my test not valid?

Thanks

I'm wondering how are you measuring this?

I may be easily confused, but if you have wired up the backplate, and connected the receiver to test it, you wouldn't be able to reach the pins! :)

Some photos of your wiring and your previous set-up may help me understand!

from the back of the backplate, so I'm happy I'm measuring it correctly. It just strange that I hear the relays click across when I press the Water or Heat button so surprised I'm not getting 240VAC output

Ok, have you connected all the heating and hot water terminals up on the Hive back plate, or are you only testing with the Live and Neutral connected, to power the Hive?
