Hi.. I've installed a hive smart thermostat with the receiver and hub. The hot water is working fine as this doesn't go through the hive at all, but I did buy the hive with hot water and heating (I believe this doesn't matter anyway)

I've connected the supply to the receiver (230v) from the boiler supply and connected the old thermostat wire to common (terminal 1) and Heating on (terminal 3) in the receiver.

The app and thermostat all sync and the receiver heating light is clicking on and off, but the boiler just won't switch on or off with the signals.

I've installed hive to a new baxi and had no issues, but this one is a Ferroli Domicompact F30 and has a round type of digital timer on it...

Is anyone aware of any alterations I need to do inside the boiler to get this to work?

Thanks

If by that you mean you bought a dual channel Hive then the chances are you have damaged the boiler PCB

The dual channel Hive can only be used on boilers with 230 Volt controls. The Ferroli Domicompact F30 appears to have 24 Volt controls, connecting it to a dual channel Hive will mean 230 Volts have been connected to the 24 Volt controls

But I can still switch the heating on and off via the receiver manually by pressing the heating grey button, albeit, when the green light is on, the heating is off and when the green light is off, the heating is on...when I swap the connection front terminal 3 to terminal 2....?

When it says low voltage it does not mean 230 volt, I know it's wrong and it should say extra low voltage, but in USA they call extra low voltage, low voltage, so can't use a duel channel Hive, and likely damage has been done, but for this boiler some thing like Nest, EvoHome with add on, Tado, Drayton wiser, or EPH would be better, i.e. a thermostat that uses OpenTherm.

The duel channel Hive does not have volt free contacts, it is designed to replace a programmer, the single channel does have volt free contacts, it is designed to replace a thermostat.

Programmers and thermostats did use same base plate, but connections were completely different. Hive really should not have used the same base plate for both, it is an accident waiting to happen.
