My home burglar alarm

Please can someone tell me how to disable the key tone or reduce volume to zero on my Honeywell Galaxy G2-20 keypad, the keys make such a loud piercing noise when I tap in our code - I can't find this information anywhere. Thanks.

Hi, it depends on the version of keypad you have, but the newer CP037, CP038, CP050 and CP051 keypads have a small pot (potentiometer) on the keypad PCB which can be turned to reduce the volume to a required level. If your keypad doesn't have the pot, you can buy a cheap keypad from ebay and swap the PCB over. The black connector on the back of the keypad pulls off (it's very tight), so you can just plug in the new board. Note that you will need to enter engineering mode to remove the top cover from the keypad without causing tamper. PM me if you need more help.

Thanks very much GalaxyGuy. The keypad is model CP038. In order to gain access to the PCB at the back of the keypad can I prise open the key pad with a flathead screwdriver in the places highlighted in red ?

No, there are two slots in the bottom for that. Gently push a flat bladed driver in the bottom slots and pull away from the wall at the bottom. There are hinged slots at the top.

Thanks. I will have a look at the PCB tomorrow .... by the way, how will I identify the potentiometer ?! Is this the G2-20 pcb ? I saw this on another thread.

That's a RIO unit and not a keypad ? The pot on the keypad PCB is as follows (with the volume pot highlighted):
